iPhone SE 2020 - The Gateway Into The Apple Eco System - New Budget iPhone

Apple just released their New iPhone SE, it checks all the boxes that people expect from an iPhone SE. This release will have a great impact on market. Usually when a company manufactures a budget smartphone, their main focus is to put as many bells and whistles as possible. This is something that diverts the focus from crucial parts to the form factor of the phone. But Apple did things the right way, they instead focused more on performance and other important factors. Since tech industry is always shaped by Apple, the new iPhone SE will change a lot of things.

    When you first have a glance on the new iPhone SE, you might think that it is an iPhone 8. But it is not, Apple took the body of iPhone 8 and the internals from the iPhone 11 and made a Frankenstein smartphone. This way they kept the cost low and still gave the best performance possible. It comes in three 3 storage options: 64gb base model priced at 399 USD and can go up to 128gb and 256gb with additional charges.

Design

    There is not a lot to talk about design since this iPhone is using the body of the old iPhone 8. The same glass on front and back, aluminum structure and sides, and 4.7-inch front display with good old bezels. It comes in three different color options: Black, White and Red. Red color is from the Product Red brand, which donates into COVID-19 pandemic this year. Some people might critique about the "Bezel-Full" screen but this one of those things I talked about earlier, with iPhone SE bells and whistles are not the main focus, it's about performance. The back of this phone is ultra clean with Apple Logo in the center and a camera on the top-left corner, which leads me to the Cameras.

Cameras

    The new iPhone SE has one camera on the back and one on the front. The back one is a 12 MP wide-angle camera. With the help of the new processor, this camera is capable of taking some stunning pictures. It also features Portrait Mode and Portrait Lighting(with six modes). It can record some of the best videos in such a budget, up to 4K at 60 FPS, and up to 1080p Slo-mo at 240 FPS. The front camera is a 7 MP camera, don't let yourself get deceived by the numbers. 7 MP might not look like enough but thanks to image processing unlocked by the new processor, this camera can do some wonders too. It also supports Portrait Mode(for some blurred background action) and Portrait Lighting. Basically you can expect amazing quality of Selfies and Videos.

Performance

    In the performance department, Apple made no compromises. You are getting same(if not better) performance as an iPhone 11. Apple is shipping the iPhone SE with their proprietary ARM-based A13 Bionic with 3rd Generation Neural Engine. This super fast processor will unlock next level of AR capabilities, that amazing image processing we talked about earlier, buttery smooth performance, battery optimization. Overall, it will provide you Flagship-level performance at less than half of the price. And undoubtedly you cannot find a faster phone at this price point. Extra Features

    iPhone SE 2020 comes with a home-button, which also functions as the Touch-ID sensor for used for unlocking the phone and making purchases through Apple Pay. It also comes with Wireless charging, you can also used a separately sold 18W charger for fast charging. It is also water-resistant with IP-67 rating.

Conclusion

    In the end, it is a great device for what you pay for. There are no compromises when it comes to performance, it has amazing cameras, wireless charging and much more only for 399 U.S. Dollars. It is a great smartphone for the Minimalists out there, who don't want to spend a lot on just a smartphone.

    I see it as a gateway into Apple's famous Eco-System. Apple knows well how to make money by selling their services. And more low-budget devices they make, the more people buy them and in turn more people, they can provide services to. As a reviewer, I totally recommend this device to anyone looking to buy a new phone.
