Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra - Samsung 2020

It's that time of the year, Samsung announced their flagship smartphones for 2020. And yes it's S20 (not S11). Basically, two phones were released at this huge event. Namely, S20 and Z Flip. In this post we will only talk about S20. Article related to Z-Flip will be posted soon.

S20(Base Model), S20 S20+, and finally S20 Ultra. S20 and S20+ are succesors to S10 and S10+. S20 Ultra is thier new device for the pros and Ultra-Rich people.

They all come with new Snapdragon 865 series (most variants), LTE variants of S20 and S20+ come with 8GB of RAM and 5G variants come with whopping 12GB of RAM, as we know Android needs alot of RAM, because it cannot manage RAM that well. So, RAM is enough. And S20 Ultra also comes with 12GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage, and humongous 16GB RAM with 512GB storage.

Samsung also made some noticable changes in design department this year. For starters, you now have camera rectangles adopting the trend made by Apple. Screens are now flatter. Thankfully, the Bixby button is now gone (hopefully, for good). And headphone jack is now gone, which means Apple was right.

In camera department, now you have Triple camera setup on back of S20 base model, with additional Depth sensors on rest. There configurations are:
  • S20          : 12MP Ultra-Wide, 12MP Wide-Angle, and 64MP Telephoto.
  • S20+        : 12MP Ultra-Wide, 12MP Wide-Angle, 64MP Telephoto and additional depth sensors.
  • S20 Ultra : 12MP Ultra-Wide, 108MP Wide-Angle, 48MP Telephoto and additional depth sensors.
This congfiguration along with some software tweaking allows S20 Ultra to do 100x zoom, and 8K video recording at 24fps (also thanks to the new and improved processor).

You can look at full specs on the official Samsung Website.

    Let's talk about prices now:
  • S20 starts at 999.99 USD.
  • S20+ starts at 1199.99 USD
  • S20 Ultra starts at 1399.99 USD
It is very brave of Samsung to make such bold moves and changes (such as getting rid of headphone-jack). I hope you found this post to be informative, if you did make sure to share it with others and feel free to comment.

A brief history of USB, what it replaced, and what has failed to replace it USB isn't perfect, but it replaced lots of ports we'll never have to see again. USB- universal serial bus is pretty much every where. USB has had a long  road of evolution and adoption, and as it nears over two decades of history, we’re wondering what is next. Is USB Type-C here to stay as the golden standard, providing a revolution to move technology forward? Regardless of technology comes next, USB has had long years of growth that makes it today’s port of choice for the computer industry . what it has replaced?   Before discussing the history of USB, it’s great to get some perspective on some of the  ports that it saved us from. If you happened to be using a computer before USB came into existence, such as an old Pentium or Pentium II, then you’ll likely remember having a multi-colored ports to deal with. Remember having to connect a mouse and keyboard? You needed a PS/2 connector or...

iPad Pro 2020 - COVID-19 - Silent Release by Apple

At the time of writing this post, the world is going through a time of disaster. Some might say that the Earth is taking a break from the stress we have given it. Yes, I am talking about the spread of the novel virus COVID-19 or commonly known as "Corona Virus". During these time Apple took some steps to help stop this viral disease to spread even further. They temporarily closed their stores and instead are now offering free and fast shipping. And they improved their online customer support (even more).                 They also released two new products (and some accessories to go with them). In this post we are only going talk about the iPad Pro. The new MacBook Air deserves a separate post (which will hopefully be published after this post) iPad Pro - 2020 One of the major products released was the new iPad Pro. There are again two models released, one 11-inch model and one 12-inch model. They both...

Is Apple's EcoSystem A Trap? - Apple's EcoSystem Explained

Image Credit: Apple Apple have intentionally or unintentionally created this EcoSystem of different kinds of tech products. Not sure what I'm talking about? Let me walkthrough. Everything Apple makes is made with intention that it blends with other products seamlessly, a person using an iPhone most probably uses iMessage and Facetime, which will work the same on his Mac or iPad, Or maybe he wants to transfer a photo or video from his iPad to Mac or vice versa, he can do it simply use AirDrop which works without giving you a headache. These devices working together create an ecosystem in which user can work freely between devices. If you want to know more about Apple's EcoSystem, watch this amazing video by Marques Brownlee:  click here.     This EcoSystem however is a controversial topic in itself, some people think that it is a good that Apple is doing this and some people think that Apple is tricking them. We'll try to cover both mindsets in this blogpost. Imag...
