Everything Apple makes is made with intention that it blends with other products seamlessly, a person using an iPhone most probably uses iMessage and Facetime, which will work the same on his Mac or iPad, Or maybe he wants to transfer a photo or video from his iPad to Mac or vice versa, he can do it simply use AirDrop which works without giving you a headache. These devices working together create an ecosystem in which user can work freely between devices.
